Experimental analysis demonstrates composition evolution of titanium alloy under aluminum ion implantation, suggesting changes in surface properties.
The results of the introduction of aluminum atoms into the surface layer of titanium alloy VT6 are presented. The direct implantation of aluminum ions and the deposition of a thin aluminum film by magnetron sputtering followed by ion-beam stirring with argon ions have been studied. The composition evolution of a ion-alloyed layer of the VT6 titanium alloy after the ion implantation with aluminum ions is shown.
