Observational analysis records teaching methods for managing diverse learning needs in German classrooms, indicating varied approaches in primary and secondary education.
Teaching in mixed-ability classrooms is a daily routine that German teachers need to deal with. There is little research in Greece that examines the phenomenon in a more general context or focuses on a specific parameter of heterogeneity, such as learning disabilities. The main objective of the present study is to systematically record the heterogeneity in the German language classroom in all its manifestations and to identify the ways that teachers choose to manage the heterogeneous classroom. Main objectives of the research are: (a) To record the different sub-cases that deviate from the typical student in the context of the class of German as a second foreign language in Primary and Secondary education in Greece. (b) To record the ways, techniques, modifications in teaching that teachers use to address diversity in the classroom.
