This research reveals a bio-inspired backpack design based on the morphology of the green anaconda, suggesting enhanced storage solutions.
This study focuses on the development of a bio-inspired camping backpack modeled after the Green Anaconda (Eunectes murinus). Due to the large number of tools used in camping, traditional backpacks often fail to accommodate all necessary items while maintaining a practical and usable size. To address this issue, a backpack was developed based on the expansion mechanism of the Green Anaconda's jaw, which allows the snake to swallow large prey for digestion. The product incorporates this system through an elastic and resistant outer material, along with an internal structure that shapes the backpack, enabling it to expand according to its load size and adapt to different uses. The materials used include neoprene, corrugated polypropylene, and lining fabrics, ensuring durability, water resistance, and flexibility. The methodologies applied involved biomimetics, physical mockup prototyping. and user testing. In conclusion, the product effectively meets its requirements, providing comfort for the user and practical storage and transportation of objects efficiently.
