Survey research reveals organizational culture positively impacts employee productivity, suggesting motivational enhancements.
In today’s dynamic organizational environment, culture significantly influences employee behavior, motivation, and productivity. This study examined the impact of organizational culture on the productivity of non-academic staff at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Igbariam. Using a survey research design, data were collected from 296 randomly selected non-academic staff through structured questionnaires. Descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and multiple regression analysis at a 0.05 significance level were employed. Findings revealed a generally positive perception of organizational culture's effect on productivity. The highest agreement was recorded for statements linking culture with motivation to meet deadlines (x̄ = 3.99), work commitment (x̄ = 3.93), and task completion (x̄ = 3.74). The lowest score (x̄ = 2.76) suggested disagreement with the notion that culture negatively affects performance. The study concluded that organizational culture significantly enhances staff productivity and recommended reinforcing cultural elements that promote structure, teamwork, and recognition.
