Descriptive-correlational analysis reveals differentiated instruction enhances creative thinking skills in college students, suggesting the need for an intervention plan.
This research examined the impact of differentiated instruction on creative thinking skills of college students in Tagum City. A descriptive-correlational design was utilized, involving 309 respondents from four private colleges and universities taking science major courses, chosen through stratified random sampling. Two research questionnaires that were adapted and validated were used for collecting data. Statistical evaluation, such as mean, standard deviation, Pearson r, and linear regression, were performed to analyze the data. The Result showed that differentiated instruction was often evident while creative thinking skills were evident. Furthermore, differentiated instruction significantly influences creative thinking skills. Drawing form these results, a plan for intervention was created to improved students’ creative thinking skills through differentiated instruction. This plan outlines approaches for educators to cultivate these skills, including varied teaching techniques, creating an inclusive and effective learning environment, teaching seminar-workshop, and effective assessment and feedback mechanism.
