This research demonstrates microwave-assisted synthesis of C4RSBs, suggesting a significant efficiency improvement in production methods.
This study presents a highly optimized methodology for the synthesis of calix[ 4]resorcinarene Schiff base (C4RSBs) derivatives utilizing microwave-assisted techniques. This approach offers a significant advancement over conventional synthesis methods by drastically reducing reaction times and energy requirements, thereby enhancing both efficiency and sustainability. A series of C4RSBs derivatives was synthesized in excellent yields (80–91%) under mild conditions using ethanol as a green solvent. The resulting products were thoroughly characterized using advanced spectroscopic techniques, including nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), elemental analysis, and mass spectrometry (MS), all of which confirmed their structural fidelity, purity, and consistency. The findings highlight the potential of microwave- assisted synthesis as a robust, eco-friendly, and energy-efficient approach for producing structurally diverse Schiff base derivatives, with promising applications in catalysis, molecular recognition, and materials science.
