Analysis reveals challenges in green development cooperation between China and the Arab States, indicating the need for innovative countermeasures.
This paper explores the practical needs, current status, challenges and countermeasures in the green development cooperation between China and the Arab States of the Gulf. Green development is regarded as a new development model and ecological philosophy for achieving sustainable and scientific development. Its core elements include the rational use of resources, proactive environmental protection and the maintenance of ecological balance. In the context of global economic integration and sustainable development, both China and the Arab States of the Gulf have adopted green development as a key initiative to drive social progress, establishing it as a fundamental national policy. Cooperation between the two parties primarily focuses on four key areas: advocating green policies, constructing green environments, advancing green economies and promoting green cultural exchanges. The goal is to jointly promote economic and energy transitions, thereby achieving sustainable development. However, challenges such as a singular trade structure, external competitive pressures, difficulties in aligning technologies and standards, as well as financing and investment risks, persist. Looking ahead, China and the Arab States of the Gulf are expected to deepen their green development cooperation, contributing to global economic prosperity and stability, while creating a new era of mutually beneficial cooperation.
