Assessment reveals fiber content differences among oilseed flax varieties, indicating potential for selection.
The article presents the results of an assessment of the fiber content in seeds of 9 oilseed flax varieties: Svetlyachok, Nebesniy, Y117, Danik, Nilin, Raduga, LM-98 and Biryuza, conducted by near-infrared spectrometry on an Infrascan 3150 device. The highest yield among the presented varieties was noted by variety Y 117. The Turquoise variety had the lowest yield - 20.32 c/ha. The fiber content of the varieties differed greatly from each other. The RFN and Biryuza varieties were distinguished by the highest fiber content in the seeds. 100 grams of seeds of these varieties contain 15.65 g and 15.33 g of fiber, respectively.
