Salvage excavation reveals archaeological significance in Negev, funded by C.P.M. Construction Company.
In March, April and August 2016, a salvage excavation was conducted in the ‘Ar‘ara community in the Negev (Permit No. A-7622; map ref. 203085–270/562546–874; Fig. 1), prior to the construction of a new residential neighborhood. The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by the C.P.M. Construction Management Company, was directed by V. Lifshits, with the assistance of A. Ziv-Ner, N. Lect Ben Ami and H. Mamalya (area supervising), Y. Alamor (administration), M. Kunin and A. Hajian (surveying and drafting), G. Fitoussy, E. Aladjem and A. Peretz (aerial and field photography), I. Lidsky-Reznikov (pottery drawing), C. Amit (studio photography), I. Reznitsky (metals laboratory) and A. Golani (guidance and counseling). Additional assistance was provided by G. Seriy, S. Talis, F. Sonntag, Y. Abadi-Reiss, D. Eisenberg-Degen, M. Pasternak and P. Fabian of the IAA Southern Region.
