Excavation reveals insights through flint analysis in ‘Ar‘ara, indicating its archaeological significance.
In September–October 2012, an excavation was conducted in Neighborhood 9 at ‘Ar‘ara in the Negev (Permit No. A-8106; map ref. 203161–261/562887–996; Fig. 1) due to the neighborhood’s development. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and financed by Construction & Project Management Ltd. (CPM), was directed by M.D. Pasternak, with the assistance of Y. Alamor (administration), Y. Shmidov (surveying and drafting), E. Aladjem (aerial photography), I. Azoulay (plans), J. Vardi and M. Krakovsky (flints), Z. Turgeman-Yaffe (archaeozoology), Y. Abadi-Reiss (consultation and guidance), and S. Talis, G. Seri and laborers from ‘Ar‘ara in the Negev.
