Review reveals that strength training reduces injury risk in athletes, suggesting better techniques may enhance performance.
Research objective: The aim of this study is to analyze the role of strength training as a preventive measure against sports-related orthopedic injuries. Methodology: A review of scientific literature on injury mechanisms and the impact of strength training on injury risk reduction was conducted. Main conclusions: Strength training, especially eccentric and functional exercises, significantly improves joint stability, strengthens muscles, and enhances neuromuscular control, leading to a decrease in injury incidence. Education of athletes and coaches on proper technique and load monitoring is also crucial. Application of the study: The findings can be used by coaches, physiotherapists, and athletes to design training programs that minimize injury risk and improve athletic performance. Originality/Novelty of the study: This paper integrates recent insights from exercise physiology and injury prevention, emphasizing a comprehensive approach to strength training as an effective preventive strategy.
