Project by Texas Forest Service helps small forest landowners improve management efficiency, suggesting collaboration.
The Texas Forest Service began a project in 1964 to promote formation of forest landowner aggregates composed of small, private forest landowners in the pine-hardwood region for the purpose of more efficient management. Emphasis was given to owners whose forest holdings ranged from 100 to 5,000 acres in size. Positive response has been encouraging, and one aggregate is already operating.
