Purpose: The purpose of this research is to formulate superior strategies and alternative measures for the Tasikmalaya Regional Government in developing halal tourism.Method: The method used in this article is the SOAR analysis method with a qualitative approach and through several stages of the method. The data sources contained in this research are primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques were carried out by library research and distributing questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in this research is using SOAR analysis.Design/methodology/approach: The method used in this article is the SOAR analysis method with a qualitative approach and through several stages of the method. The data analysis technique used in this research is using SOAR analysis.Findings: The findings of this study there are 5 main alternative strategies in the development of halal tourism in Tasikmalaya, namely: Socialization of the concept of halal tourism; Making local regulations on the implementation of halal tourism; Strengthening the potential, attractiveness, and innovation of halal tourist attractions; and conducting training for managers or local residents related to the management of the implementation of halal tourism.Research Implication: The implications obtained are not only the development of halal tourism, but will have an impact on the economy of the people in Tasikmalaya.Originality/value: the originality of this research lies in its innovative approach to analyzing and addressing the challenges and opportunities in halal tourism development in Tasikmalaya, as well as its broader implications for local economic development.
