This study conducted a Focus Group Interview (FGI) to study the activation plan of the Daejeon cultural content industry cluster. The FGI was conducted by officials in the cultural content field in Daejeon, and they discussed the current status and evaluation of the Daejeon cultural content industry cluster, its activation plan, and the role of the central or local government. As for the activation plan of the Daejeon cultural content industry cluster, it was suggested to cultivate professional manpower, support projects from a long-term perspective, and convergence with other fields. In addition, there was an opinion that it is necessary to establish a local content fund that can support the growth of local content companies, protect and utilize copyrights, and change perceptions as demand for online content increases. The role of the government was suggested to establish governance, establish an integrated information system, and create a flexible labor market. Along with this, there were opinions that joint growth of large companies and SMEs, feedback on support projects, connection with various promotional programs, and support for market development were necessary. It is hoped that the Daejeon cultural content industry cluster will be activated in the future through the opinions and policy suggestions of the relevant parties proposed in this study, thereby contributing to the balanced development of the capital and non-capital areas and resolving the crisis of regional extinction.
