The relevance of the presented research is determined by the need to change approaches to teaching basic economic disciplines adequately to the conditions of transformation of the country's economic development model. The purpose of the presented research is to search for rational approaches to teaching basic economic disciplines that best meet the processes of transformation of national economic development. The novelty of the results obtained lies in the formation of a set of postulates for teaching basic economic disciplines in higher education in the conditions of transformation of the model of economic development of society. The practical significance of the results obtained lies in the possibility of using the author’s approaches outlined when teaching basic economic disciplines in higher education, taking into account the processes of transformation of the model of economic development of society.
