To operate stably and optimally a multi-receiver wireless power transfer (WPT) system, the full mutual inductance information including cross couplings is required. However, little research has been developed to estimate the full mutual inductance information of a multi-receiver WPT system. This study proposes a two-stage approach for estimating the full mutual inductance information of a multi-receiver WPT system. At the first stage, the mutual inductance between the transmitter and each receiver is calculated. Then, at the second stage, the mutual inductance (i.e., cross coupling) between two receivers is sequentially estimated. Through experimental results, the proposed method demonstrates that it can precisely estimate the full mutual inductance information of a multi-receiver WPT system.
