Perfluoroalkylation reactions of triarylamines with perfluoroalkyl iodides by visible-light irradiation of EDA complexes have been achieved. When these perfluoroalkylated triarylamines are subjected to acetone-sensitized irradiation, a highly stereospecific electrocyclization to endo perfluoroalkylated carbazoles is obtained.
