Synthesis of new stable benzenaminium salts using oxyacetic acid derivatives via oxytrimethinium salts as intermediates

In this article, four different stable benzaminium salts were synthesized from the one‐pot reaction of oxyacetic acid with aminothiophenol or aminophenol derivatives under Vilsmeier‐Haack conditions in the presence of triethylamine in acetonitrile at reflux. The structure of the new compounds was confirmed based on their spectral data from 1 H NMR and 13 C NMR and elemental analysis.
