This paper presents modeling and solutions for deep-sea multibeam survey line placement using genetic algorithms. The study focuses on establishing mathematical models for the coverage width and overlap rate between adjacent survey lines, considering the slope of the seafloor. It also discusses the development of models for deep-water survey line placement when the survey line direction can be arbitrarily changed. Furthermore, the paper introduces a genetic algorithm-based approach for optimizing multibeam survey line placement within a given boundary in a rectangular sea area. The objective is to minimize the total length of the survey lines while satisfying certain constraints. The proposed models and algorithm provide a systematic approach for efficient and optimal deep-sea multibeam survey line placement.
