In this paper, we study the beam coverage problem of multibeam sounding system and its measurement efficiency in the complex seabed terrain environment, especially in the seabed slope area. Based on the sine theorem, cosine theorem, iterative optimization solution and other methods to model and complete the related work and use the differential evolution method algorithm to solve the model. Firstly, a mathematical model of the coverage width and the overlap rate between adjacent strips of multibeam bathymetry is established, its geometric relationship is described using the sine theorem and the cosine theorem, and the Gaussian elimination method algorithm is used to solve the system of linear equations. Then, a multibeam mathematical model that considers the variability of the line direction is established based on the change of the line direction of the sounding vessel in the sea area by using the linear system of equations. Again, a set of survey lines covering the whole sea area with the shortest measurement length is designed, and the overlap rate between neighboring strips is satisfied, the beam coverage width of multibeam measurement is examined. And the effect of repetition rate is considered by applying the multiplicative influence factor, and it is concluded that the parallel path planning method can get the shortest missed measurement length, and the survey lines can completely cover the whole rectangular sea area. Finally, to design a survey line for a survey vessel equipped with a multibeam bathymetric system, a seawater depth simulation scenario is built based on the difference algorithm, which models the survey path design problem as an optimization problem with the objective functions of total path distance and coverage. Then, the algorithm searches for the optimal solution in the solution space of the problem by simulating the differential evolution process in the solution space.
