• Multidimensional insights to the biology of oral cancer including not only genomics but also transcriptomics and proteomics and metabolomics. • Characterization of heterogeneity may help to provide characterization to oral cancer heterogeneity not only in different tumours but also within the tumour by exposing molecular subtype for the first time and revealing key molecular alterations that drive the progression of the tumour. • Predictive biomarkers may help to discover predictive biomarkers against the response to treatment and may influence therapeutic decision-making in the future and finally improving the management of patients with oral cancer.
