Introduction The incidence of chronic obstructive Eustachian tube (ET) dysfunction is about 1%. It can lead to chronic otitis media with effusion, adhesive process or cholesteatoma. We have a lack of information about reasons for the development of ET dysfunctions. There are considerations about biofilm development in the ET with the consequence of obstructing mucus. So far there are no relevant studies on the natural bacterial colonization of the ET and in patients with chronic obstructive ET dysfunction.
