The Use of Program-Oriented Management in the Activities of Public Authorities in the Field of Education

The article considers the main provisions of the use of program-oriented management in the activities of public authorities responsible for the development of the education system at the regional level. The concept of program–oriented management is given, its implementation in the fi eld of education is shown on the example of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Chelyabinsk region. The possible risks of the practical use of program–targeted management are shown, possible ways to minimize risks and further improve the application of program-targeted methods in public administration in the fi eld of education are proposed. It is established that due to program-targeted management methods in the fi eld of education, the implementation of strategic tasks and priorities is ensured.
