Pulmonary hypertension (PH) and secondary mitral regurgitation (MR) are associated with adverse outcomes after mitral transcatheter edge-to-edge repair. We aim to study the prognostic value of invasively measured right ventricular afterload in patients undergoing mitral transcatheter edge-to-edge repair.
This UCLA-led study, published in the Journal of the American Heart Association, suggests that subtle changes in the heart's structure and function, detected by cardiac MRI, may predict an increased risk of developing cancer years later. The findings support a more integrated approach to cancer and cardiovascular disease prevention.
