Recent advancements in Augmented Reality (AR) have led to increased focus on head‐mounted or near‐eye displays, but optical challenges such as limited field of view and small eye‐box size persist. To address these, Holographic Optical Elements (HOEs) has emerged as a solution. However, conventional AR glasses face limitations, as a result, this paper validates the free focusing performance of both quasi‐Maxwellian view and Maxwellian view, compares their field of view and eye rotation tolerance, and finally proposes a holographic AR system design based on quasi‐Maxwellian view to allow for larger eye‐box movement and free focusing.
