The article presents the results of the study of translation activity focused on cognitive-communicative and matrix approaches. The relevance of matrix-network modelling for studying the specifics of collaboration in translation project is determined by the modern tendency to systematic consideration of work processes in translation tasks. The paper outlines the necessity of new methods representing the translation process of a written or interpreting project translation task. The paper considers new possibilities for describing the translation situation based on responsibility distribution matrix, communication matrix and distributed graph. The matrix is used to illustrate the actions and degree of involvement of each participant, indicating the key nodes of responsibility with the initial letters RACI (responsible, responsible consulted, informed). The communication matrix shows the cognitive-communicative processes of information transfer, understanding and agreeing between members of the working group. The graph constructed with the help of a social network visualizer in order to reflect the interaction and vectors of intra-project communication of various actors in their professional environment. The proposed variants of workflow schematization provide for a deeper analysis and optimisation of complex processes of translation-mediated communication. The research materials include interviews with representatives of the translation department of an industrial enterprise in the Chelyabinsk region
