Background: The long-term goal of asthma treatment is to achieve and maintain asthma control and improve the patient's health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Randomized clinical trials have shown drug efficacy under controlled conditions. However, they may not be able to fully assess daily activities (physically, socially, emotionally) in a clinical setting. Therefore, we investigated the effect of an extrafine single-inhaler triple therapy (efSITT) consisting of beclomethasone dipropionate/formoterol fumarate/glycopyrronium bromide on asthma control and HRQoL in a real-word setting. TriMaximize was designed to gain insights into treatment pathways in patients with moderate to severe asthma who have switched to efSITT. Our analysis at hand aims to provide real-world evidence for the association of asthma control and HRQoL outcome measures.
