A theoretical analysis of the hardiness of higher education students in the conditions of modern realities was carried out. The priority vectors in modern science are singled out and the basic concepts of "resilience", "resiliency", "hardiness" are characterized. The peculiarities of the terminological apparatus of the research are clarified based on the research of scientific works of domestic and foreign authors. It defines "resilience" as the process of harmonious adaptation to adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats, or significant sources of stress, such as family and relationship problems, serious health problems, or work or financial factors. It is noted that the definition of "resiliency" can be considered as the ability of the human psyche to revitalize after being in adverse life circumstances, recovery, acquisition of positive mental adaptation even after disasters, consolidation and recovery after complex traumatic events. It is proposed to define the term "hardiness" as the degree of formation of the ability to withstand a situation of acute or chronic stress to maintain internal balance without reducing the success of the activity. Sustainability is characterized as the foundation of a person's personal traits, one of the key properties of his individual ability to mature forms of self-regulation.It was found that resilience is manifested as a person's attitude towards himself, the surrounding world and the nature of interaction with it, it gives strength for self-actualization and self-realization, leadership, self-respect and self-acceptance, a healthy way of thinking and behavior, and makes it possible to feel significant and valuable enough to fully get involved in solving life tasks without being distracted by the presence of adverse factors and changes. Theoretical methods were used: analysis of philosophical, psychological-pedagogical, socio-pedagogical and sociological literature to outline the main theoretical principles of the researched problem; comparison and generalization for the systematization of scientific positions of domestic and foreign scientists; assessment of the resources of the innovative educational environment to determine the priority value orientations of those higher education students in the conditions of modern socialization challenges. The role of hardiness in building the trajectory of professional growth of higher education students in the conditions of modern realities is updated.
