Multi-beam sounding is to calculate the depth of sea water through the propagation of sound waves in seawater, so as to infer the factors that affect the efficiency and quality of sounding. In this paper, based on the trigonometric function, the mathematical model of the coverage width of multi-beam sounding and the overlap rate between adjacent stripes is established, and the sea water depth, coverage width and overlap ratio in different positions are calculated. Secondly, in order to analyze the change of the coverage width under different measuring line directions, calculate the relationship between the angle and the projection of the coverage width surface on the sea slope and the horizontal plane, the angle between the measuring line direction, the slope and the sea water depth, and establish the coverage width model, the coverage width is calculated when the angle between the direction of the measuring line and the distance between the measuring ship and the center of the sea area changes. Then the optimal solution problem of measuring line layout is required to be solved. Furthermore, the layout of the survey line under the north-south direction and the east-west direction is analyzed, and the north-south direction is selected as the specific situation of the survey line layout, the goal programming model is established, and the genetic algorithm is used to find the optimal solution. The results show that when the angle between the direction and the level is (63.435)/180π and the distance between the lines is 342.784m, the length of the line is the shortest. Finally, the stability of the model is tested, and the variation range of the shortest measuring line length (that is, the objective function) is less than 5% by using the angle β in the direction of the measuring line and the distance d between the two parallel lines.
