Pianos are commonly used to teach basic music skills, but not all students have access to one. Virtual pianos can replace physical ones for easier access and online learning. This study analyses the advantages of digital media in music education. Additionally, based on experiences and suggestions of music learners and teachers gained through semi-structured interviews, a web-based virtual piano program suitable for teaching is proposed. The web-based virtual piano, created with JavaScript and Web Audio framework will aim to synchronously display piano keys, pitch notation, and related information in order to enhance teaching effectiveness and learning experience.
