A visible-light-induced, Fe-catalyzed atom transfer radical addition–reductive debromination cascade of alkenes and CBr 4 has been developed for the divergent synthesis of 1,1,1,3-tetrabromoalkanes, 1,1,3-tribromoalkanes, and 1,3-dibromoalkanes.
