Herein, we present the first Zn( ii ) catalyst for multicomponent synthesis (MCS) of 1,3,5-trisubstituted pyrazolines, 2,4,5,6-tetrasubstituted pyrimidines and quinoline synthesis via acceptorless dehydrogenative (AD) coupling of primary alcohols.
