Teacher Immunity is one of the key factors for successful EFL teaching in AI-assisted educational contexts. This research was a qualitative study which explored the role of ChatGPT in aiding EFL teachers to enhance their teacher immunity. The study involved a purposive sample of 22 male and female teachers from six Iranian foreign language institutes. The age of the participants ranged from 22 to 27 and they were native speakers of Azeri and Persian. Semi-structured interviews were run to collect data. Additionally, Thematic Data Analysis was employed to extract major themes from the perspectives of the EFL teachers. Based on the themes emerged from the instructors’ comments and expressions, reducing teacher burnout, tool for professional development, emotional support, enhancing classroom efficiency, overcoming isolation with materials, resilience in the face of challenges and transformative role in teacher autonomy were revealed as factors related to EFL teachers’ perceptions of ChatGPT and its role in building their teacher immunity. The findings offer implications for EFL teachers, TEFL trainers and educational policy makers regarding the role of ChatGPT as an AI tool in enhancing teacher immunity.
