Exclusions included black ethnicity, sexual immaturity, bicuspid aortic valve, marfanoid manifestations, aortic aneurysm, left-to-right shunts, peak aortic gradient >15 mmHg, moderate to severe aortic or mitral regurgitation, blood pressure ≥140/90 mmHg, 2nd/3rd degree AV block, and nonphysiological left ventricular hypertrophy.
