Analysis reveals optimal spring configurations reducing vibration in hermetic compressor assemblies, enhancing appliance efficiency.
The increasing demand for quieter and more efficient home appliances has led manufacturers to seek innovative solutions to reduce noise and vibration levels. Refrigerators often produce low‐frequency vibrations and noise due to the hermetic compressor. This article discusses the use of an analytical multibody model to simulate these vibrations in hermetic compressors. The study explores new configurations of the internal assembly, which is mounted on springs fixed to the housing, to minimize the vibrations transmitted to the refrigerator cabinet. Genetic algorithms are utilized to find optimal spring positioning and combinations of stiffness values for the elastic elements. The results indicate that placing the support springs closer to the center of mass of the assembly leads to reduced vibration levels in the housing.
