Analysis of isotopic compositions in minerals reveals contamination by metamorphogenic waters in a specific region, indicating environmental impacts.
Data on oxygen and hydrogen isotopic composition of phlogopite (δD = −85 ‰; δ18O = +5.9 ‰), oxygen isotopic composition of Ca-rich pyroxene (δ18O = +5.1 ‰) and Ca-poor pyroxene (δ18O = +5.9 ‰) of contact plagioperidotites from the Ioko-Dovyren massif have been obtained. Samples of contemporary rain, surface, and underground waters of region and pluton’s igneous rocks undergone serpentinization, chloritization, and amphibolization in the postmagmatic period have been analyzed to obtain indirect information about isotopic composition of paleometeoinfiltration waters. The Ioko-Dovyren magma was probably contaminated with metamorphogenic and meteoinfiltration waters, their contents being later increased in due course.
