Research develops a user-friendly control algorithm for remotely operated vehicles, enhancing operational efficiency.
Current commercially available Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) often suffer from complex operation modes, presenting high entry barriers and low efficiency in responding to unexpected situations. To address these problems, this research focuses on simplifying ROV control. An optimized strategy is developed for more reliable and user-friendly ROV control. For hardware: The main controller consists of two joysticks. Intuitive motion control is achieved through the joystick's angle and force sensing, enhancing operational efficiency. A force feedback system is integrated to improve the naturalness of human-machine interaction. For software: Develop a human-machine interactive control algorithm tailored for dual-joysticks, enabling precise control of ROV movement through joysticks input mapping and operational intent parsing. A semi-autonomous control mode algorithm is integrated, which provide one-trigger activation of basic maneuvers to significantly reduce operator workload. This study effectively reduces ROV operation difficulty while maintaining a required level of precision, thereby enhancing operational convenience. It provides technical support for the broader adoption and application of ROV in diverse fields.
