This article examines how laser thermal hardening affects surface hardness and toughness in tool steels, indicating improved durability.
This article examines the structural development of carbon and alloy steels used to manufacture laser-hardened metalworking tools. It is established that hardening tool steels with continuous gas lasers significantly increases their surface hardness while maintaining the required toughness of the matrix metal, ensuring high tool durability and performance.
