Abstract

이 글은 재일조선인 여성들의 ‘중얼거림’을 역사 속에서 주변화된 발화로 주목하고, 그것이 2세들의 재현을 통해 어떻게 수용되고 재구성∙확장되는지 고찰한다. 먼저 재일조선인여성 동인지『봉선화』가 보여준 자기서사의 열망을 출발점으로, 식민지 전후의 민족∙젠더∙계급적 차별 속에서 재일 1세 여성들이 직접 발화하기 어려웠던 현실을 짚는다. 이어 김성학이 촬영한 다큐멘터리 영화『haruko』를 통해 재일 1세 여성 ‘정병춘’의 생애와 그 재현 방식을 분석한다. 특히 정병춘의 발화가 제작진의 의도와 배치되고 있는 지점은 재일여성들이 타자화되는 과정을 시각적으로 확인해 볼 수 있는 사료적 근거가 된다. 이에 대해 재일조선인 시인 종추월의 시에 나타난, ‘어머니’ 세대의 경험이 ‘딸’의 시적 언어 속에서 감응하고 중첩되는 ‘청취’의 상호적인 방향성은 객관적 지표의 바깥에서 문학의 언술이 어떤 대안점을 갖출 수 있는지에 대해 질문하게 한다. 이러한 비교는 ‘읽고 쓸 줄 모르는 어머니’라는 재일조선인 여성의 서사를 희생적 모성 신화나 ‘보편적 가족서사’로 환원하지 않으면서, 기억과 사실 사이의 균열을 번역하는 젠더적∙포스트식민주의적 읽기의 가능성을 모색하게 한다.
