Archaeological monitoring identifies undated pits during foundation excavation for an agricultural shed, suggesting chalk extraction origins.

The programme of monitoring resulted in the identification of two large but undated pits. The pits were excavated into chalk and chalk extraction was therefore proposed as the origin of the features.
