Monitoring documented excavation activities for farm redevelopment, finding no archaeological remains.
Redevelopment groundworks involved the excavation of footings trenches for the conversion and extension of an existing agricultural building to form a dwelling, the excavation of the base of a detached outbuilding to form a garage and garden store, and the excavation of associated service trenching. The excavation of a percolation test pit (1.5mx1mx1.5m) in the southwest corner of the site was also monitored. Excavations for the detached outbuilding involved the removal of rubble to a depth of 0.30m at the north up to 0.10m at the southern edge of the plot due to the tilt of the land. Service trench excavations were approximately 0.90m below existing ground level. No archaeological remains were observed during the monitoring programme.
