This review summarizes the evidence for pharmacological therapies in managing heart failure associated with primary and secondary valvular heart disease.
Valve disease and heart failure are intricately linked in a bidirectional relationship. Heart failure is both a frequent cause and a common consequence of valvular heart disease. This review will provide an overview of the evidence for medical therapy to prevent valve disease progression and to prevent or treat established heart failure in patients with primary and secondary valve disease.
