Study examines social factors affecting academic experiences in students with learning disabilities, suggesting insights for improvement.
This study examines the social dimensions of learning disabilities within school education. It aims to identify key social factors that shape the academic experiences of students with learning disabilities, including family environment, school climate, teacher attitudes, and peer relationships. Drawing on both quantitative and qualitative data collected from teachers and students, the study finds that social factors exert a considerable influence on academic performance, motivation, and engagement. In particular, supportive teacher-student relationships and inclusive classroom environments are associated with improved student outcomes. Conversely, limited awareness, insufficient resources, and inadequate parental involvement emerged as significant barriers. The study underscores the need to address social dimensions alongside pedagogical strategies to strengthen inclusive education practices. The findings may be of value to educators, school administrators, and policymakers engaged in supporting students with learning disabilities.
