Demonstrates the alcoholysis of N-acylpyrrole-type amides, indicating a practical synthetic method.
The cleavage of amide C–N bonds is of considerable interest across synthetic chemistry, biological processes, and the pharmaceutical industry. Conventionally, these transformations have necessitated the use of transition-metal catalysts or harsh reaction conditions, including strong acids, strong bases, and elevated temperatures. Here, a facile and practical method was reported for the alcoholysis of N-acylpyrrole-type amides under mild conditions using a weak base as the catalyst. This strategy offers a broad substrate scope and high functional group compatibility.
