Analysis of Higher Secondary Science Textbooks in light of NEP 2020

Textbook is a guide as well as a source of information for both students and teachers. Textbook enables teachers to follow a certain sequence and pattern and helps the students in giving guidance to achieve the goals of education. Science subjects in higher secondary schools mainly consists of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. It requires consistent supervisions from curriculum developers in order to keep the contents and quality updated. NEP 2020 recommend that students develop scientific concepts to real-world problems, nurture problem-solving and critical thinking abilities as well as their practical abilities. This study analyses Class XII Biology textbook in the light of NEP 2020 recommendations.
