The article examines the role and sustainability of large and small agricultural producers in the Russian agro-industrial complex. In recent years, the Russian Federation's agriculture has undergone significant changes. At the same time, the sustainability of agricultural organizations requires a balance between economic efficiency, environmental sustainability, and social responsibility. Currently, the agricultural sector is a multi-level system that includes large agricultural holdings, individual farms, and numerous personal subsidiary farms, which are more difficult to account for than officially registered organizations and are more prone to changes. However, all of these three forms of farming, taking into account the agricultural products they produce, can be considered the main participants in the agricultural sector. The study used quantitative methods, the method of system analysis, and the comparative method.
