Relevance of the research. Disorganized human activity has created disproportions in the relationship between man and the surrounding world, disturbed the balance of the bio-, techno- and anthroposphere. The essential reason for such a situation is that the scientific worldview paradigm has become completely obsolete and exhausted, expressed in the lagging of theoretical capabilities of man from practice. A social and environmental crisis is also an epistemic crisis, which makes it difficult to predict the consequences of actions, increases uncertainty and deprives of controllability, which can have unfortunate results. The paradox is that only with the help of human activity on qualitatively different grounds we can get out of the impasse, which is based on the crisis of the metaphysical foundations of human existence, or the exhaustion and inadequacy of established methods of posing cognitive-research questions (paradigms) for today’s realities. The purpose of the article is the conceptualization of social self-organization in the context of modern realities of globalization as a new paradigm. The main results of the study. Self-organization is the third way for the development of the world and changes in being. First of all, it is self-change and self-development, which presents a less mechanistic and more secular view of sustainable development, bringing it closer to humanism. It was determined that the self-organization of society is the emergent effects of what people do and nothing more. This is how a well-founded understanding is formed that no otherworldly forces or the blind action of nature will provide ready-made solutions to global problems, and we must rely only on ourselves – on human capabilities as an internal resource of the social world-system. The new worldview paradigm of self-organization records a worldview shift from the imperative of human adaptation to the external conditions of natural and social existence to their purposeful change. It consists of several principles: from mechanicism to human-dimensionality, from socialization to generation, from competition to cooperation. A conclusion is made about the change in the metaphysical foundations of human’s existence, which consists in the transit of defining principles from mechanicism, socialization and competition to the human-dimensionality, generation and cooperation. This forms a new way of setting research tasks, conceptualizing the self-organization of society as a new paradigm. Thanks to such a more humanistic lens of consideration, there is an opportunity to resolve the paradox of human’s own influence on nature and society and to translate it into a constructive direction.
