The global challenges and urban processes of our time create a natural question for the development of philosophical discourse based on the existential challenges faced by an individual in search of the meaning of life. Therefore, this article examines the life world of a Ukrainian person of the modern era, which has a complex structural position in terms of shifts and crises of identity, and as a result, the formation of a new consciousness. The problem is to identify existential problems and their impact on the further development of anthropological transformation. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the existential problems and consequences of the transformation of the human life world in the context of global urbanization. Referring to the analysis of the life world through the researcher and popularizer of philosophical ideas M. Shinkaruk, we can say that this concept is an important category that provides a deep justification of the deep connection between a person and the reality that surrounds him or her. In order to analyze the concept of the life world through the prism of existential philosophy in the context of urbanism in Ukrainian literature of the modern era, we turned to European authors with existential motifs (Jean Paul Sartre and Albert Camus), where we traced the relationship, as in V. Pidmohylnyi’s case, that the city is a fable. Pidmohylnyi, that the city is an indifferent reality where it is impossible to find a consensus between desires, where a person is pursued by transformation, both social and physical, and as a result, the absurdity of his or her own existence occurs, that is, the transformation of the subject leads to the loss of his or her own essence. Therefore, in conclusion, existential challenges in the urban environment are not only a source of a new individually heightened sense of self-awareness, but also a space for lonely alienation and internal ambitious struggle for a better future in the context of urban processes. The central theme of the paper analyzing the impact of social pressure and alienation, where M. McLuhan emphasized the merging of worlds into a single information space, and V. Pidmohylny focused on the psychological aspects and experience of a person trying to hear his or her own voice and preserve individuality. Thus, the dynamic transformation in the life world of a modern Ukrainian person is a sign of the growing search for new meanings and identity, where there is a crisis of values.
