Archaeological monitoring and recording assessed a proposed dwelling site to identify historic features and disturbances.
Heneb: Clwyd-Powys Archaeology were instructed to undertake a programme of archaeological Monitoring and Recording as parts of works for the proposed erection of a detached dwelling following the removal of an existing garage. The site had been previously developed which resulted in disturbance and redeposited materials throughout. The site featured a sandstone wall, which was present in the SE corner of the excavated footing trench. This wall, depicted on the historic OS maps, is only visible within the trench for 2.50m before it extends beyond the excavated area. It was likely disturbed previously when the garage was constructed. The site was otherwise sterile.
