An Analysis of Character Education Presented in Grade 8 SMPN 8 Bekasi English Textbook

Moral degradation is one of the problems in the world of education. and books are one of the factors causing moral degradation in students. This research aims to examine the grade 8 "English for Nusantara" textbook used at SMPN 8 Bekasi schools. To what extent does the textbook related to the 6 Pancasila Character Profiles outlined by the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, 1. Analyze the contents of the Class 8 English textbook used at SMP Negeri 8 Bekasi to find out whether the book is in accordance with the 6 Profiles Pancasila Character, "English for the Archipelago" textbook. In the data analysis procedure, researchers used the Krippendorff method to analyze the data. The researcher obtained data from Chapter 1 to Chapter 5 with a total of 20 dialogue values in the picture, which is dominated by the third dimension, namely mutual cooperation with 11 values (55%%) and interestingly, there is one value that is not present at all in the dialogue in the picture in the book "English for Nusantara, this value is a creative value. This research emphasizes the integration of Pancasila values found in textbooks, highlighting their diverse existence which encourages comprehensive student development.
